All filled in. Some interesting questions there. Look forward to seeing the results.

  2. chris says:

    done mine.

  3. D&G says:

Hopefully Zola sling your hook son…..

  4. DICEY says:

CARLTON COLE IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE ZOLA NEEDS TO SORT HIS HEAD OUT AND STOP PICKING THE CLOWN. HE IS ONE OF THE WORST PLAYERS EVER TO DON THE CLARET AND BLUE SHIRT AND TO MAKE THINGS WORSE HE HAS GIVEN HIM A NEW 5 YEAR CONTRACT. WE CANNOT KEEP PICKING THAT MUPPET, OTHERWISE WE WILL DEF GET RELAGATED NO MONEY IN JAN ,THIS SCUM BAG MCCABE IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE.

  5. jon.london colney says:

im done, very dificult one to answer who would you most like to see begging under waterloo, tried to click all 4 !!!!!

  6. Reno says:

Gotta get Cole out of the starting line up. Time to give Di Michele or Tristan a run in the first team.

  7. Goatygav says:

Done mine too. Could you stick Jack Collison on the “Hammer of the Year” one? I reckon he might get some votes.

  8. SJ Chandos says:

Very interesting survey, the results should be illuminating.

  9. HammersWest says:

Done mine, interesting questions, looking forward to seeing the results COYI

  10. Ricky says:

Done mine, couldnt agree with Dicey any more Cole an alledged striker that is now being classed as a holding centre forward?????

  11. jon.london colney says:

From Monday on I’ll be working on his finishing every single day until he’s fed up with it. He has to score more goals because it can change performances so much.”

the words penny and dropped spring to mind?

  12. AndyB says:

    Done!

Best question was the Waterloo Bridge one, although Iain, you should have had at least 15 names and let us vote for more than one! In that case, my names would have been Kevin McCabe, Neil Warnock, Sean Bean, Terry Brown and the entire Sheffield United team!

  13. Dax says:

Hey Ian, your question on where we from left out Africa. Why?? Now I know I am probably 1 of about 3 west ham fans I know about here in South Africa but I am doing my level best to spread the word.

  14. Iain Dale says:

Apologies. I have added Africa to the survey now. I havent voted myself yet so I will click Africa to make up for the fact you couldn’t!

  15. jon.london colney says:

on that note i had to tick south east /kent? im in herts but why is kent singled out for special treatment?

  16. Iain Dale says:

    Cos I live there!

  17. Stephen says:

Carlton Cole is getting a lot of criticism at the moment and although he is not scoring you really can’t fault his hard work. Unfortunately this is not enough. However it was not his fault we did not win the match. In fact the best chance fell to Bellamy! Hopefully Cole’s luck will change soon as you can see it on his face he desperately needs a goal to reward his effort. This is why I hope the crowd stays of his back and doesn’t result in booing him like we have done to him and previous players before. The one thing you can say about him is he is working his socks off. He certainly has blasted the ball 30 yards wide like LBM!
My second point is I am fed up with having to wait yet another season until we can move forward as a club. Lets hope for a swift sale to someone who wants to move the club forward and back Zola as I am sure he can be successful at West Ham

  18. All filled in for you.

I think you’re feeling a bit sensitive about the “not enough posts on the blog” rants from one or two small minded (thick) people.

It’s your blog, say whatever you want whenever you want to. It’s not like any of those people pay you (or even thanks you) for your efforts.

    Good work!

  19. Eric says:

Here’s a question— with talk of a fire sale looming and selling off our best players, Does BG really have the final say in who can be sold? Doesn’t Duxbury or the holding company have a voice?
Their interests lie in seeing the club succeed.

Surely he can’t just wipe us out for his own personal financial reasons and leave the club floundering?

Hopefully i’m explaining this well. I’m not the most savvy of business blokes

  20. gossy says:

Get off Carlton’s back. We now have an alternative in Triston and I’m sure he will get added to the mix now. Carlton has been doing an ok job, trying his hardest and needs some backing to put the ball in the back of the net…….. Putting him in the boo boy team does no one any good.

Any talk of Bellers going is crazy, he is the only person we have that goes past people, creates his own site on goal and given the width of posts would of had around 5/6 goals. These inchs will begin to fall in his favor. Bellers stays. You can find another Neill, we have some Upson alternatives, but at the mom we have no alternatives to Bellamy.

Those who wished Mr Curbs out of office are now realizing that he did an amazing job keeping us up and getting us to 10th with a crippled squad. Let’s give Zola some more time, the next two games are massive, so let’s sing those hearts out for 6 points that will make the world look a lot different. Happy Xmas all.

  21. jon.london colney says:

ahhh special treatment for yourself!!! well it is your train set i supose!!!

  22. Mick Jolly says:

Whilst I appreciate the job that Curb’s did, it was at least a boreing journey to that 10th spot. After watching the way the boys played against Villa at the weekend, it reminded me why I have supported the Iron’s for over 50 years. The football flowed, the passing was excellent and against a team that now sits in 3rd place we had some 60% of possession. We played like a team, we looked like a team. Zola has vision and flair. I agree that Carlton Cole is not hitting the net, but he is holding the ball and is a perfect target man. I do agree though that maybe its time to give the 2 new guys a chance and perhaps Tristan and Bellamy would be a good starting option. Its clear for all to see the influance that Steve Clark has had on the team and our defence is really working as a unit. Neil was very very unlucky for the Villa goal. Keep behind your team guys. Forget th Booing and lets have more support and loads of Bubbles. Merry Christmas to all you Hammers and lets hope for a very Happy New Year

  23. colin say's says:

l think with out Zola we would never have got Clarke, i think getting Clarke is one of the best things that Westham have done for years and years, he must know all there is to know about the game, all the up and comming players at Chelsea, who might just be persuade to come over to use!!!! ( WITH AN OFFER THEY CAN’T REFUSE) only joking!! l think Bellers wants a bloody good cheer when he comes on , so he won’t want to leave, because he will know we all love him and what him to stay……………….

  24. Eric says:

I agree with Colin re: Clarke. He would not have looked twice if Zola wasn’t here. And i put my trust in him. The next two games will see us get some points. I’m positive Zola knows where the trouble spots are

  25. nr2iron says:

I feel we are not far off a very decent first 11 but need to strenghthen the squad and out a few,Faubert,Boa Morte and Di Michele as they are nowhere near good enough, selling Zamora was also a mistake,if we sell any of our major players in january i really do fear for us as a big club.

  26. Upton Spark says:

All done and looking forward to the results.Still think you could have included the Hammerretts. The lads in the Bobby Moore really miss ’em!

  27. pjd says:

i am getting very worried,we do not look like scoring.cole will not get double figures,i would be surprised if he gets 8,the midfield against villa was very workmanlike tried very hard but we have little creativity.if dyer comes in(dont laugh) he could help, but i really think we will struggle unless we get a striker in maybe on loan i dont really care.with cole i cannot fault his effort but to those who say well he works so hard, well isnt he supposed to,and isnt a strikers job to score goals.i think zola and clarke are the right people and lets hope someone buys us before the transfer window closes cos i really fear for us otherwise

  28. Richard says:

I have completed the survey. I wish he would sale Carlton Cole, or drop him. In The Mirror Aston Villa want Bellamy!. I do think he will be sold in January. I hope we keep Aston. I hope the board give Zola time to turn things around. One or two wins and we will shot up the table. The questions were very inseresting. Looking forward to the results!.
Iain have a good Xmas and everybody who reads the Blog!!!

  29. claire says:

Iain, I completed the survey but forgot to thank you for writing the blog. Happy Chrstnas to you and yours. Cheers, Claire

  30. DICEY says:

WHY ARE PEOPLE STICKING UP FOR CARLTON COLE, EVERY GAME HE PLAYS HE LOOKS SO INEPT IT IS UNBELIVABLE .EVERY CHALLENGE HE JUMPS FOR HE GIVES AWAY FREEKICKS, HAS NO CONTROL CANT SHOOT, CANT HEAD THE BALL .HE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR US . HE HAS CHAMPIONSHIP WRITTEN ALL OVER HIM.ZOLA IS BLIND.. “PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP PICKING HIM NOW”

  31. Roshi says:

Iain, you know how much I hate Kia and you left him off the list.

  32. Piers says:

    Good stuff, filled in.
As with all survfeys, they can’t really reflect the nuances of a question, the “yeah but no but”.

And Dicey, COle deserves defending because he’s got work rate, something I always value in a player, if only he had talent too…

  33. DICEY says:

FOR ALL COLE ‘S HARD WORK HE HAS PUT IN ,WHAT HAS COME OF IT NOTHING .ZOLA NEEDS TO SHOOT HIM NOT TEACH HIM TO SHOOT. IF HE KEEPS PLAYING HIM WE WILL DEF GET RELAGATED AND ZOLA WILL GET THE SACK.GIVE TRISTAN A GO.

  34. LJ says:

For what it’s worth in the FA Fantasy Premier League Carlton is currently second in the best forward bonus points table only to Adebayor.

As this is judged by independent experts and only the best 3 players in a game get any points presumably this suggests that actually Carlton is more than holding his own as a Premiership player.

He has a particular job to do. He just gets on with it.

If you were a training manager in any organisation you wouldn’t say to a staff member

“Here son, here’s something we know you can’t do; so now go and do it; Oh you haven’t done it, you must be useless.”

    Support Carlton- and COYI
