Sheff Utd Face Third Party Interference Charge

I haven’t got time this morning to do into this in detail, but it appears Sheffield United may be in a bit of bother about the non appearance of a Charlton Athletic player in their cup tie on Saturday. Martin Samuel has the STORY.

Samuels’ story can’t be right; that champion of truth and justice, Mr McCabe, would never stand for his club gaining an unfair advantage by interfering in the team selection policy of another club. Why, if he thought there were even a glimmer of truth in it, I’m sure he would ask his friends at the FA to exclude his club (as they did to lowly Droylsden a few weeks ago) from the competition, and he would already have telephoned the chairmen, managers and players of any clubs they’ve previously beaten in the competition, asking them how much compensation they would like. Wouldn’t he?

Quite right, Obviously mis-reported. Sheff Utd are squeaky clean and we should give them their £ 50 million now.

I do hope they don’t make the play offs this year.

  3. Roy says:

Have you noticed that the Mail are only showing pro Sheff. Utd responses to the article? I

  4. Vasquez says:

Interested to see how Samuel’s opinion pieces about us will sit with the Daily Heil’s anti-West Ham editorial line.

  5. Roy says:

They’ve suddenly pulled this article Iain. Any ideas why?

  6. Claretandbluepoo says:

IVE GOT TO POST THIS CAUSE THE DAILY MAIL ACTUALLY ALLOWED IT TO BE POSTED ON THEIR SITE!!!

WE’RE STILL IN THE CUP, SHEF UTD SHOWN UP AGAIN & I GOT A COMMENT POSTED BY THE DAILY MAIL NAZI’S, NOT BAD FOR A MONDAY!

You can dress it up as much as you want to, Rules are Rules. The player was registered with Luton & Transferred to Charlton. A party which does not or ever did hold the players registration has influenced his non selection in a fixture. The benefits of this influence to either team involved is irrelevant. A law, clearly defined by the FA has been breached, charges should be brought against Sheffield United. A precedent was set by i recent arbitration panel i believe!

    Typical. McScab strikes again.

His friends at the F.A will hush it up again. It wont fit with their power struggle with the Premier league to punish them for the same offence they are so eager to get us for, and in doing so, show up the Premier league.

Interesting statements issued by both clubs on their websites. I might be misreading them but they both seem to be admitting the agreement was reached while they were discussing the termination of Spring’s loan at Sheffield United, whilst at the same time claiming Martin Samuels story is nonsense.

Hands up if you can work that one out.
