Last Chance to Join the Iain Dale Fantasy Football League

So far 303 people have entered teams into my Fantasy League for this season, but you now have less than 24 hours to enter a team before the season begins.

There’s a prize of £100 worth of books and CDs for the winner. To enter a team (there’s no charge!) click HERE. When you’ve registered your details, follow the instructions to select your team.

When you’ve done that you need to join the Iain Dale League by typing this code 496137-92054 into the relevant box. You need to register before the season starts on 11 August. Last year there were 152 teams entered (via my political blog). Let’s see if we can beat that this year.

I’ve chosen the following players in my team…Green (West Ham), Shorey (Reading), Neill (West Ham), Woodgate (Middlesbrough), Ferdinand (Man U), Bentley (Blackburn), Petrov (Aston Villa), Nolan (Bolton), Noble (West Ham), Drogba (Chelsea), Rooney (Man U) Subs: Niemei (Fulham), Richards (Man c), Reo Coker (Aston Villa), Berbatov (Spurs).

I’ve also got a second team – Iain Dale’s Rejects, a team consisting entirely of ex Hammers (which I have shamefully included Carlos Tevez in…)

David James, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Konchesky (Fulham), Frank :ampard (Chelsea), Michael Carrick (Man U), Joe Cole (Chlesea), Yossi Benayoun (Liverpool), Jermain Defoe (Spurs), Carlos Tevez (?) Subs: Stephen Bywater (Derby), Tynrone Mears (Derby), Kieron Richardson (Sunderland), Marlon Harewoood (Aston Villa)

Thanks for this link, Iain. My son and I have duly registered and joined the Iain Dale league!
Nice to find a free versionI must say.

Makes me feel a tad better about eggys reclassification of the bobby moore upper from a category 4 to a category 3 pricing!! (Not….)

  2. Kiwi Hammer says:

Carlos Tevez – the bloke that almost single-handedly kept us in the top flight. He may not be a Hammer for much longer, but i will never forget what he did for us.

  3. Maureen says:

    Thanks Iain,
I already had a team, just transferred to your league, can’t wait for the season to start.
Hope the Hammers do better then my fantasy team, I was useless last year

  4. Xhammers@heartX says:

Ta very much Iain, Team picked and raring to go, good to be in the league second ony to the Premiership!!! Just out sheer curiousity can each league member view each others teams?? .”We love you west ham we do”

  5. hammerology says:

    bring on gudjonsen….

  6. Hammertime says:

What does everyone think about the possiblity of signing Gudjohnsen??

From what I can gather by reading between the lines, it looks like we are looking into getting:

    Appiah
    Shorey
    Gudjohnson
    maybe SWP

I’m not sure about Appiah but i think the others would give us an awsome squad with quality in every position. What does everyone think?

  7. E1 says:

Well Iain the 152 record is a thing of the past could be a lot of fun just like the forthcoming season and we are 2-1 up at norwich i cant remember looking forward to the start of a season this much for quite a few years !!
Almost as exsiting as waiting to go to my first game back in 1968 v Sunderland 8-0 !!! same feeling and I hope the same outcome. COME ON YOU IRONS!!!!!

  8. ny hammer says:

i hope we succeed in getting gudjohnson- to me he wud be a much better purchase than bent.

a good result v. norwich – didn t set the night on fire ,but we re moving in the right direction.

    go on the west ham

  9. luke says:

Well Gudjonsen sounds great to me, heared that the bid for him is suppose to be around 10 million, and Im sure we all know what a great striker he is so I cant wait to see if he signs for us. Hammer time I heard that Shorey was ready to put pen to paper with another Reading deal and SWP I dont think want to leave chelski by the sounds of it and I dont even think they would sell him yet anyway.

  10. jon l.colney says:

kiwi hammer, your not a mark from bucks are you wiv loads ov twins?

watched the game last night and thaught we were v,good .

some great moves going forward and with a bit of luck could have been 5 up by half time.ashton and his slow lazy look still baffling defences,i cant quite work out why hes sooo good yet.is it just me? bowyer looked lively but still cant hit a barn door from 10 paces.and now for the main man…… booby f.in zamora.come on ladies he has got to be in the team some how. the mans cnb through and through and his pre season has shown he has got the ability and desire to make a true west ham legend.one day.
only a few days to go,cant wait.

    COME ON YOU IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. ny hammer says:

should we get this deal done for dyer ,though he may have an uneven history, it gives us needed cover in midfield and up front if need be. the guy probably has something to prove ,and if so ,despite some of his mistakes off the pitch, he cud be useful to us on it.

  12. ny hammer says:

the news of teh settlement of the tevez situation is perfect to be getting prior to teh season starting. now everyone can get down to business and concentrate on getting the job done on the pitch, without this farcical media circus carrying on . good riddance . tevez provided great entertainment and obviously played a huge role in us staying up , but now it s over, thank god. it was nice having him, but we ll be just fine without him.

    bring on aug 11

  13. ny hammer says:

mike ashley is a complete moron. dyer has a history of injuries, and the player is desperate to leave , yet newcastle at the last minute up the price. newcastle can sod off. also rans , with no chance of ever raising their game, especially with bg fat bungin sam at the helm. west ham shud not put up with this crap- let newcastle suck on it now that they ve shelled out money for alan smith , another has been, what price kieron dyer come january ? a lot less than the origibal 6 million . get stuffed ashley
